Learn how to make your own stamp!

About this experience

Stamp Making Workshop Description:

Learn how to make your own stamp of choice through a process called block printing with your instructor, Yesi.

You’ll receive a rubber block, cutter for carving, brayer roller, ink and a fabric pouch to stamp your creation on. Yesi will guide you step-by-step in how to transfer your image to the rubber block, carve out your design, and apply ink.

Please bring 2-3 design options that fit within 4 inches wide by 6 inches high. You may freehand your design. If you’re not sure what to make, Yesi will have options available for you. This workshop will take approximately 2 hours.

What is block printing?

Block printing is a printing method that uses hand carved wood, linoleum or rubber blocks to transfer ink onto paper or fabric. The hand carved block serves as a stamp that can be used to create patterns. It is known as one of the oldest forms of all textile printing methods.
